About the Authors

Kris Patrow is a lifelong storyteller. As a young child growing up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, she wrote poetry for her family. By second grade, Kris' teacher told her parents that she hoped to live long enough to read Kris's first book. Kris's work soon appeared in school yearbooks and the local newspaper (where she discovered her passion for journalism). After graduating from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, she began a decades-long, award-winning career as a TV news reporter and anchor. Always drawn to the human truths behind the headlines, she traveled the world reporting stories that appeared on CNBC, the Discovery Channel, and NBC and ABC affiliates nationwide.

Kris is also the author of I Witness News. I Witness Miracles. A Reporter's Notebook, what she calls a "positive newscast" documenting the unexpected, good news that shows up in ordinary life. After her husband's sudden cardiac arrest-a moment that reshaped her world-Kris found her writing deepening with even greater emotion, urgency, and gratitude. That experience fuels her drive to tell stories that not only save hope but may even help save lives. Today, she brings that same heart-centered approach to her work in public relations, helping organizations share stories that connect them to the audiences who matter most.

She lives in Woodbury, Minnesota, with her husband, Dave Ogle, and their Airedale terrier, Bo. They have two adult children, Sammy and Alex, and a lifelong belief in the power of storytelling to heal and to change us.
